Synonyms: Lime, Quicklime, Calcium Oxide, Burnt Lime, HiCal Lime, Caustic Lime, Calcium LimeA common quicklime to water ratio for slaking (hydrating) quicklime is around 1:3, meaning for every 1 part quicklime, add 3 parts water; however this ratio can vary slightly.
Calcium oxide (CaO), commonly referred to as quicklime, is a high calcium content derivative of our 98.5% pure calcium carbonate (limestone). Calcium oxide is produced by heating calcium carbonate to 2000 degrees F, where dioxide disassociates as a gas from the calcium carbonate.
